I am an administrator at Northwestern University and a scholar of higher education and international affairs.
My research focuses on overseas American universities, foreign interference in higher education, and academic communication with the public. My writing has appeared in International Higher Education, Inside Higher Ed, and Change: The Magazine of Higher Learning, among other venues. I am proud to serve as Vice President of the American University of Iraq Foundation, a U.S. tax-exempt charitable organization that supports liberal arts education in Iraq. I have served as a professor for a research university, researcher at non-profit organizations centered on higher education governance and assessment of student learning outcomes, and consultant to a wide variety of higher education institutions and international development agencies. Among my prior appointments are UNESCO Co-Chair of International Education for Development at the George Washington University, Director of Higher Education Research for Hanover Research, and inaugural Director of the U.S. Office for the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani. |
